The fund tracker built for class and parent funds
Every class has a parent who ends up holding the money for teacher gifts, trips and party supplies. SquadKitty is the free, shared answer to "how much have we collected?" — no spreadsheet, no signups for the rest of the parents.
Built for parent WhatsApp groups, not accounting software
A contribution request goes out at the start of term, money trickles in over weeks, and then there's a teacher gift, a trip deposit, or party supplies to pay for. SquadKitty turns the running total into a link you can share in the class group chat — anyone can check the balance, only you can edit it.
- Gifts, trips, party and supplies as ready-made categories — rename or add your own any time
- Ask for a one-off contribution or set a per-term amount and see who's paid at a glance
- A live balance link any parent can open — no account needed to view it
- A CSV export of every contribution and spend, for when someone asks for the numbers
How it works
- Create your fund. Sign up free and pick "Class or parent fund" — gifts, trips and supplies are set up for you.
- Share the link or code. Drop it in the class WhatsApp or parent group chat. Anyone with it can see the balance — no account needed.
- Log contributions and spending. Add the parents, then record who's paid and what's been bought.
- Everyone stays in sync. The balance updates live for anyone watching the link. Only you can add or edit entries.
Why not just a spreadsheet or a WhatsApp message?
Because nobody opens the spreadsheet, and a message showing the total is out of date the moment someone pays by bank transfer. A link that's always current is the only version people actually check — and it saves you typing "we've collected £84 so far" into the group chat every fortnight.
Questions
- Do the other parents need to sign up?
- No. Only the organiser needs an account. Everyone else just opens the link.
- Is it free?
- Yes, no card required.
- Does real money move through the app?
- No — it's a running tally of what's been collected and spent, not a payment app.
- We're only saving for one trip, not an ongoing fund — does this still work?
- Yes. Skip the per-term dues setting and just log contributions and spending as they happen.
